Born in 1612. Born in Kyoto. He created Buddhist statues under Tankai at Hozan-ji Temple on Mount Ikoma in Yamato (Nara Prefecture). After Tankai's death, he worked independently. He also created dolls, and is known for "Fuzoku Hyakunin Isshu" (still extant). He passed away in November 17th year of the Kyoho era. He was 74 years old.
