A town in Nishimuro County in the southern part of Wakayama Prefecture. Mostly mountainous, the main industries are forestry and fishing. The main settlement is the fishing port of Susami at the mouth of the Susami River, and it is served by the Kisei Main Line and the Kisei Expressway. Area 174.46 km2 . Population 4,730 (2010). 和歌山県南部，西牟婁(にしむろ)郡の町。ほとんど山地で，林業を主とし，漁業も行われる。主集落は周参見(すさみ)川河口にある漁港の周参見で，紀勢本線，紀勢自動車道が通じる。174.46km2。4730人（2010）。
