British printer. He joined Hughes & Co., printers to the House of Commons, and began printing the Records of Parliament in 1774, before establishing his own company in 1798. The Records of Parliament continued to be published by successive generations of his descendants until 1889. His son Thomas was imprisoned in 1810 for printing W. Cobbett's radical newspaper, which was charged with libel.
