A former town in Kahoku County, central Ishikawa Prefecture. It occupies the sand dune area of ​​Kahokugata Lagoon facing the Sea of ​​Japan. The sand dunes are used to cultivate watermelons, melons, strawberries, and other crops. Shiitake mushrooms and scallions are also produced. Rubber-blend narrow fabrics are produced in large quantities. In March 2004, it merged with Takamatsu Town and Unoke Town in Kahoku County to form Kahoku City. 6.39 km2 . Population: 11,784 (2003).
