Pancreatic leech - Eurytrema pancreaticum
A parasitic worm belonging to the family Dichleata of the class Platyhelminthes Trematoda. It is distributed in Asia and South America, and mainly parasitizes the pancreatic duct, bile duct, or duodenum of ruminant animals such as pigs, goats, sheep, cattle, buffaloes, and camels. Body length: 8.5-16.0 mm, body width: 3.0-8.5 mm. The oral suckers are slightly larger than the abdominal suckers. There are two testes, one on each side posterior to the abdominal suckers. The ovary is small and located posterior to the left testis. The genital opening is located in the middle of both suckers, on the midline, just behind the intestinal bifurcation. The eggs are very similar to those of the lancet fluke.
