A commentary from the early Edo period. Four or five volumes. Written by Keichu. Finished before 1692 ( Genroku 5 ). Published in 1802 ( Kyowa 2 ). Provides an overview of "The Tales of Ise," with annotations for each section. It offers a wealth of new insights into the theory of its creation, historical verification, and word definitions, and is considered a groundbreaking achievement in the history of research into the Tales of Ise.
