Qin Bang-xian

[Died] April 8, 1946. Born in Shanxi. One of the top leaders of the Chinese Communist Party from January 1931 to January 1935. His pen name was Bo Gu. He graduated from an industrial school in Suzhou, and joined the party after entering Shanghai University in 1925. The following year he studied in Moscow, and returned to China in 1930 with Chen Shaoyu and others. He criticized the Li Lisan line, and when the Soviet-staying faction gained leadership in the party in 1931, he became second only to Chen Shaoyu, serving as Central Secretary of the Communist Youth League and Secretary of the Politburo. After the party headquarters was moved to the Jiangxi Soviet District and Chen Shaoyu went to Moscow, he temporarily served as acting general secretary of the party. Together with Chen Shaoyu, he became the center of the Soviet-staying faction and promoted the so-called third far-left line, but his leadership was taken over by Mao Zedong at the Zunyi Conference in January 1935. After participating in the Long March, he served for a time as director of the Party's Northwest Affairs Office, and died in a plane crash in 1946.

中国共産党の 1931年1月～35年1月の最高指導者の一人。筆名は博古。蘇州の工業学校を卒業し，1925年上海大学入学後入党。翌年モスクワに留学し，30年陳紹禹らとともに帰国。李立三路線を批判し，31年留ソ派が党の指導権を獲得すると陳紹禹に次ぐ地位につき，共産主義青年団中央書記，政治局書記をつとめた。党本部が江西ソビエト区に移り，陳紹禹がモスクワにおもむいてからは，一時党総書記を代行した。陳紹禹とともに留ソ派の中心となって，いわゆる第3次極左路線を推進したが，35年1月の遵義会議で指導権を毛沢東に奪われた。長征に参加したのち党西北辨事処主任を一時つとめ，46年飛行機事故で死亡。
