Tsutsukowake Shrine
[1] A shrine in Tanagura, Tanagura-cho, Higashi-Shirakawa-gun, Fukushima Prefecture. Formerly a nationally-beloved middle-ranking shrine. The deities enshrined are Tsutsukowake no Kami (Ajisuki Takahikone no Mikoto ) and Yamato Takeru no Mikoto . It is said that the shrine was established at Tsutsukoyama (Takehokoyama) when Emperor Yamato Takeru was on an expedition to the east. The shrine building was built at the current location in 807. It is said to be the Ichinomiya of Mutsu Province. Chikazu Daimyojin. Baba Myojin. [2] A shrine in Yatsuki Omiya, Tanagura-cho, Higashi-Shirakawa-gun, Fukushima Prefecture. Formerly a nationally-beloved middle-ranking shrine. The deity and history are the same as (1). Famous since ancient times as the guardian deity of roads, it is also called Chikazu (Sensho) Myojin and Chikazu Kaminomiya, and together with Chikazu Nakanomiya and Shimonomiya in Kuji-gun, Ibaraki Prefecture, it is known as Chikazu Sansho Myojin. It is said to be the Ichinomiya of Mutsu Province.

[一] 福島県東白川郡棚倉町棚倉にある神社。旧国幣中社。祭神は都都古和気神(味耜高彦根命(あじすきたかひこねのみこと))、日本武尊(やまとたけるのみこと)。日本武尊が東征のときに都都古山(建鉾山)に創祀されたと伝えられる。大同二年(八〇七)現在地に社殿造営。陸奥国の一宮と伝えられる。近津大明神。馬場明神。[二] 福島県東白川郡棚倉町八槻大宮にある神社。旧国幣中社。祭神、由緒は(一)に同じ。古来道路守護神として名高く、近津(千勝)明神、近津上ノ宮とも称され、茨城県久慈郡の近津中ノ宮・下ノ宮とともに近津三所明神といわれる。陸奥国の一宮と伝えられる。
