A novel by Grimmelshausen, published in 1669. Also known as The Fool's Tale. A folk novel in the style of a rogue novel. It takes the form of an autobiography of Simplicissimus, a poor peasant's son growing up in the midst of the Thirty Years' War, and portrays the social conditions of the time in an interesting and critical way. グリンメルスハウゼンの小説。1669年刊。《阿呆物語》とも。悪者小説の形式を模した民衆小説。三十年戦争のただなかに育つ貧しい百姓の子ジンプリチシムスSimplicissimusの自伝の形をとり，当時の世相を興味深くかつ批判的に描く。また続編はのちのロビンソン物語を先取りしている。
