Idaho [State] - Idaho
A state in the western United States. Abbreviated as Ida. (ID). Half of the state is in the Rocky Mountains, and irrigated agriculture is practiced in the Snake River basin in the south. The main crops are wheat, Idaho potatoes, and sugar beets. Coeur d'Alene in the north is a producer of silver, lead, and zinc. The state capital is Boise. It became a U.S. territory in 1846 and joined the Union in 1890. Area: 214,045 km2 . Population: 1,634,464 (2014).
