Ink for high-speed printing that is designed to dry (solidify) in a short time when heated. It often refers to oil-based ink for offset and rotary letterpress printing, but in a broader sense it also includes solvent ink for gravure printing. A typical oil-based heat-set ink is used for multi-color rotary offset printing. It contains 20-50% petroleum-based solvent in its composition, and as the solvent evaporates while passing through the hot air drying device following the printing unit, the ink solidifies and fixes, forming a printed surface with beautiful color and gloss.
