〘Noun〙① A general term for the Chinese character styles of Kaisho , Gyosho, and Sosho. Shinsho-gyo. *Suga Kakegoshu (c. 903), Kizuno no Daifu "Shinsho-gyo and Sosho are back, and how can they continue to be painful ? " [Shoshikaiyo - Song]② By extension, it refers to the three types of tsukeai in Renga and Haikai . Shin refers to the way of attaching the heart and words to the previous verse in an exact correspondence, and the style of that tsukeai. Gyo refers to the way of attaching the heart and words to the previous verse in a roughly conforming manner, and the style of that verse. Kusa refers to the way of attaching the words in a vague manner, and the style of that verse. Also used in flower arranging, painting, gardens, etc. Shinsho-gyo. *Joruri, Omi Genji Senjinkan (1769), 7 "His body is preoccupied with military matters, and even a momentary gap is not enough for him to turn to his desk, and Shinsho-gyo and Sosho are not to be missed ." 〘名〙① 漢字書体の楷書(かいしょ)・行書・草書の総称。真草行。※菅家後集(903頃)傷野大夫「況復真行草書勢、絶而不レ継痛哉乎」 〔書史会要‐宋〕② 転じて、連歌俳諧の付合(つけあい)などの三種。真は心・詞にわたって前句に正確に対応して付け合わせる付け方、またその付句の体。行は心・詞がだいたい前句に順応した付け方、またその句体。草はどことなくかかわりあう付け方、またその句体。華道、絵画、庭園などの形式にもいう。真草行。※浄瑠璃・近江源氏先陣館(1769)七「その身は軍慮に他念なく暫時の隙も机(おしまづき)、真行草のかたからぬ」
