〘Noun〙① The name of a female official in ancient China. In the Zhou dynasty, they were said to have been in charge of the queen's ceremonial affairs, and from the Han dynasty onwards, they were in charge of the records of the harem. [Zhou Li - Tianguan, Jushi]② One of the female officials. A non-official official. Meaning a female recorder.
