Nitrate bacteria

Nitrobacter is a type of bacteria that oxidizes nitrite to produce nitrate, and uses the energy gained from the oxidation process to live. Nitrobacter is the most well-known type of soil bacteria. It is closely related to the conversion of organic nitrogen fertilizers into absorbable substances for crops.
