Commercial bill - Shogyo Tegata (English spelling) commercial bill

Commercial bill - Shogyo Tegata (English spelling) commercial bill

A bill issued to pay for purchases resulting from actual commercial transactions, and includes promissory notes and bills of exchange. Since it is a bill to settle for the price of goods, it is also called a commodity bill. A financing method in which financial institutions discount bills is called bill discounting or discounted bills, and most of these are commercial bills. Since commercial bills have actual commodity transactions as their background, the sales price of the goods is expected to be the settlement fund, so they can be said to have self-settling power or self-liquidity. Therefore, from the perspective of the financial institution that discounts them, they are settled in a relatively short period of time and there is little risk in terms of protecting the credit. However, it should be noted that there is a risk that the receipt of the sales price for the goods will fail and the bill will become dishonored, and that even if a bill for financial purposes that is not backed by actual commodity transactions is mixed in, it will not be easy to tell from the face of the bill.
