Ruins - Ruins

A ruin is a unit of space that consists of physical materials left by past humans or that show the results of human activity, and that is inseparably related to the land on which it is located. Generally, ruins are structures built on the ground or carved into the earth, but even objects that can be considered relics in themselves, such as sunken ships, can be considered ruins if the place where they were found is significant. There are various types of ruins, such as the remains of houses, workshops, rice paddies, shell mounds, tombs, temples, and capital cities. While some of these can be considered ruins on their own, they are often combined to represent the living space of a certain human group, and they must be recognized as a single ruin. Another word similar to ruins is the scattering of artifacts. The scattering of artifacts is not necessarily the result of human activity, but can also be the result of natural phenomena such as floods, but it is a sign of the existence of ruins nearby, and is treated in the same way as a ruin.
