The North American Colonial Congress was held in Albany, USA (now the capital of New York State) in 1754. Since the beginning of the 18th century, rivalry between Britain and France had intensified conflict among the colonies in North America, and the Native Americans were pro-French. In 1754, Britain solidified its policy of unifying the control and joint defense of its North American colonies, and gathered representatives from New England, New York, Pennsylvania, and Maryland in Albany to discuss the establishment of a confederated colonial government (June 19 to July 10), which resulted in the adoption of the Albany Confederation Plan, drafted by B. Franklin.
