This fishing method involves laying a bag-shaped net in the sea, chasing fish into it, and then pulling it up to catch them. It is part of the seine fishing method. In addition to the kamasu oiikomi net and the horse mackerel oiikomi net, there are also Okinawa-style oiikomi nets, and the Itoman oiikomi fishing method in Okinawa is the most famous. It is carried out in southern coastal fishing areas where there are many coral reefs and where seine nets and seine nets cannot be used. Due to problems such as the depletion of marine resources and the destruction of fishing grounds, it is almost completely banned except in Okinawa due to prefectural fishery adjustment regulations.

袋状をした網を海中に敷設し，人が魚を追立てて入網させ，引上げて漁獲する漁法。敷網漁業に属する。かます追込網，あじ追込網のほかに沖縄式追込網などがあり，沖縄の糸満の追込漁が有名。珊瑚礁の多い南方の沿岸の漁業で引網，敷網ができないところで行われた。水産資源を取りつくし漁場を荒すなどの問題から漁業調整上，資源上から，都道府県漁業調整規制により，沖縄を除きほとんど禁止されている。
