There are about 200 species of evergreen epiphytic orchids native to tropical Africa and Madagascar. They come in a variety of forms, from short-stalked to long-stalked climbing orchids. The leaves are thick and fleshy, linear or rod-shaped. The flowers are waxy white, with a long, tubular base at the lip that forms a spur. They flower in greenhouses from December to February. In winter, a room temperature of 17 to 20°C is required. They are grown in pots or on stalks. Source : Heibonsha Encyclopedia About MyPedia Information |
