Environmental assessment

...When considering plans or actions that affect the environment necessary for humans to live a healthy life (such as coastal reclamation work or urban development plans), various alternatives are considered, and their impacts on the environment are predicted, evaluated, and compared. As a prerequisite for environmental impact assessment, the investigation and evaluation of the geology, hydrology, vegetation, and other ecological characteristics of the area is sometimes called environmental assessment (EA). Environmental destruction causes problems for human life, but recovery and relief after the fact are difficult.
