The time it takes for the Moon to complete one revolution around the Earth in the sidereal sky, which was 7:43 minutes and 12 seconds on the 27th. The Earth's rotation is slowing down due to tidal forces, so if we use Universal Time (UT) based on the Earth's rotation, the Moon's motion appears to be accelerating. However, because the tides transfer angular momentum to the Moon, if we use the currently used ephemeris time (ET), the sidereal month becomes about 0.01 seconds longer per 100 years.
