A type of Grignard reagent. It is obtained by reacting bromobenzene with metallic magnesium in ether. It is unstable in air and soluble in ether-based solvents. It is important not only in laboratories but also industrially as a reagent for introducing phenyl groups into organic compounds. It is an important raw material for triphenylmethanol, diphenylethylene, etc. Grignard reaction [Tomoda Shuji] Source: Heibonsha World Encyclopedia, 2nd Edition Information |
