It is enshrined in the Daijingu Shrine in Tateyama City, Chiba Prefecture. The main deity is Amenotama-no-Mikoto, with his consort Amenotome-no-Mikoto as a secondary deity. His younger brother Amenotomi-no-Mikoto and grandson Amenotomi-no-Mikoto are enshrined at the auxiliary shrines. According to the Kogo Shūi, during the reign of Emperor Jimmu, Amenotomi-no-Mikoto led the Imbe people of Awa (Tokushima Prefecture) to this area and began to develop it, which is said to be the origin of the area. There are also oral legends of the place where Amenotomi-no-Mikoto landed nearby. It is listed as a Meishin-taisha in the Engishiki, has long been worshipped as the Ichinomiya of Awa Province, and was listed as a Kanpei-taisha under the Meiji government system. In addition, the Mikari Shinto ritual, held from the end of the year to the New Year, is known for its strict observance of taboos.
