Born on March 14, 1885. After serving as a professor at Keio University, he became a professor at Kyushu Imperial University in 1925. He was instrumental in the founding of Yonago Medical College, and in 1945 he served as the first principal of the college, and later as president of Yonago Medical University and Tottori University. He researched the pathology of epilepsy and physical treatments for mental illness. He defined the premorbid personality of manic-depressive illness as an obsessive temperament. He passed away on August 25, 1978, at the age of 93. He was from Tottori Prefecture and graduated from Tokyo Imperial University. His publications include "Latest in Psychiatry" (co-authored).
