A military commander during the Northern and Southern Courts period. He was the eldest son of Norimura. At the end of the Kamakura period, he was appointed as the executive officer of Mikuriya in Choshu, Settsu Province (Nagasu-cho, Amagasaki City, Hyogo Prefecture) (his younger brother Sadanori was the general pursuer) and as land steward of Wada-no-sho, which was the domain of the Kujo family, and controlled the coastal area of the province, which was a key point for land and sea transportation. He played an active role in the Genko War and did his best to establish the Kenmu government, but when Ashikaga Takauji rebelled, he became a ruling party along with his father Enshin (Norimura) and was appointed as the shugo of Settsu Province. After Enshin's death in 1350 (Shohei 5, Kan'o 1), he became head of the Akamatsu clan and also served as Shugo of Harima Province, but died in April of the following year, 1351, at his Shichijo residence in Kyoto. He was succeeded by his younger brother Sokuyu, but the position of Shugo of Settsu Province was given to his eldest son Mitsunori. His posthumous name was Reikoinden Moso Senhan.
