1750?-1808
Ottoman military officer and politician. He was recognized for his work in the Janissaries, and was later appointed ayan of Rustyuk (now Ruse, Bulgaria). In 1807, the Janissaries rebelled in Istanbul against the "new order" of Selim III (reigned 1789-1807). When Selim III was dethroned, he led his troops to the capital, suppressed the Janissaries, installed Mahmud II on the throne, and became Grand Vizier himself (1808). He then tried to carry out reforms in accordance with Selim III's will, but incurred the wrath of the Janissaries, and was attacked by them, leading to his suicide.

オスマン帝国の軍人，政治家。イエニチェリ軍団で活躍して認められ，のちルスチュク(現，ブルガリア領ルセ)のアーヤーン職に任じられた。1807年，セリム3世(在位1789‐1807)の〈新体制〉に反対してイエニチェリがイスタンブールで反乱を起こし，セリム3世が廃位されると，兵を率いて首都へ急行してイエニチェリを抑え，マフムト2世を即位させて自ら大宰相となった(1808)。その後，セリム3世の遺志に沿って改革を進めようとしたが，イエニチェリの反感を買い，彼らに襲われて自殺した。
