Japanese: 島本[町] - しまもと

A town in Mishima County in northeastern Osaka Prefecture. It is the western gateway to the Kyoto Basin on the north bank of the Yodo River, and was once a key transportation and military location called Yamazaki. It faces Oyamazaki Town in Kyoto Prefecture. The Tokaido Main Line, Hankyu Kyoto Line, and National Route 171 (Saigoku Kaido) are all located here. In addition to spinning and liquor factories, there is the site of Sakurai Station (historic site), where Kusunoki Masashige and Masayuki bid farewell to their son, and Minase Shrine. Area: ^{16.81 km2} . Population: 28,935 (2010).

大阪府北東部，三島郡の町。淀川北岸の京都盆地の西の門戸にあたり，古くは山崎とよばれた交通・軍事の要地で，京都府の大山崎町と対する。東海道本線，阪急京都線，国道171号線（西国街道）が集中する。紡績，洋酒の工場のほか楠木正成・正行(まさつら)父子訣別(けつべつ)の地桜井駅跡（史跡），水無瀬(みなせ)神宮がある。16.81km²。２万8935人（2010）。
