Parent and Child Clock - Oyakodokei

Parent and Child Clock - Oyakodokei

It refers to a combination of a master clock with a device that emits a signal at regular intervals and a slave clock that is remotely controlled by that signal. They are used in transportation, schools, hotels, and other laboratories that require accurate time, and depending on the size of the facility, there can be anywhere from a few to several hundred slave clocks. The slave clocks usually move intermittently from a highly accurate master clock, receiving a signal every 30 seconds or every minute, but some use a synchronous motor to move the hands continuously. Some slave clocks are standalone clocks that receive timely signals from outside to correct the hands, but most have an extremely simple structure in which an electromagnet is activated by a signal, moving a ratchet wheel one tooth at a time, and they cannot be used as a clock by themselves.
