FAS - FAS
The Federation of American Scientists is a non-governmental organization (NGO) formed in 1945 after World War II by American nuclear scientists, primarily those who had participated in the Manhattan Project. From a scientist's perspective, the organization appeals for an end to the arms race and a ban on the use of nuclear weapons. Its secretariat is in Washington.
