A ranch in the late ancient period in Totomi Province. It corresponds to the area of present-day Kanaya Town, Shizuoka Prefecture (now Shimada City) and the area south of the Oi River in Shimada City. Around the mid-Heian period, it became the private property of the court noble Oe Kinsuke, but during the Choreki era (1037-1040), Fujiwara Nagaie, Minister of Civil Affairs, acquired the honkeshiki. In response, the azukaridokoroshiki was passed down from Kinsuke to his eldest son Hirotsune, his grandson Fujiwara Nagazane, and his eldest son Naganori. During this time, the honkeshiki was sold to Nagazane around 1112, and the ranch reverted to a private property without the protection of a higher lord. In 1127, Eihan donated the ranch to Enshoji Temple in Kyoto (present day Kyoto City Sakyo Ward), which was built as a temple for Taikenmon-in (the Empress Dowager of Emperor Toba), and the following year it was granted as a ranch estate under Enshoji Temple. An inspection book was created for the ranch when it was granted, and it shows that the total area of the ranch was 1,744 cho, broken down into 209 cho of rice paddies, 126 cho of farmland, 210 cho of plains, 547 cho of mountains, 291 cho of fields, and 360 cho of riverbeds, and the number of lay people was 218. → Position/Name of the ranch granted Source : Heibonsha Encyclopedia About MyPedia Information |
