(1) The name of the strike sound of the otsuzumi drum in Noh. A soft, weak, but resonant sound. In some schools, it is called "kan." It is chanted as "tsu" and written as "" or "・" on musical scores. (2) The name of a technique for striking the drum in Noh and Nagauta. A technique in which the drumstick is struck lightly and the leather is held down directly, striking an entire phrase. The right plectrum hits the beat and the left plectrum hits the half-way mark, making a total of 16 strikes. One of the basic techniques. (3) A term used in Kabuki directing. The way in which the clappers are struck to open and close the curtain of a scene.

(1)能の大鼓の打音名。小さく打った，弱いが響く音。流派によっては〈甲（かん）〉と呼ぶ。〈ツ〉と唱えられ，譜面上では〈〉または〈・〉と記される。(2)能や長唄の太鼓の手組名。弱く打った撥（ばち）でそのまま革をおさえる奏法で，1句すべてを打つ。右撥は拍に当たり，左撥は半間に当たるので，打音はすべてで16となる。基本の手組の一つ。(3)歌舞伎の演出用語。1場面の幕開きと幕切れの，幕の開閉に打つ拍子木の打ち方。
