Noto [town] - Noto
An old town in Fugeshi County, northeastern part of the Noto Peninsula in Ishikawa Prefecture. Facing Toyama Bay, Ushitsu in the center is a good natural port and a distribution center for goods from Oku-Noto. A typical farming and fishing town. The coastal area is part of the Noto Peninsula Quasi-National Park. In July 2003, Noto Airport opened in the area straddling Wajima City and Anamizu Town. In March 2005, it merged with Yanagida Village in Fugeshi County and Uchiura Town in Suzu County to become a town, Noto Town. 115.46 km2 . Population 11,790 (2003).
