Sodium aluminate

Japanese: アルミン酸ナトリウム - あるみんさんなとりうむ（英語表記）sodium aluminate

Chemical formula: NaAlO ₂ . It can be obtained by heating a mixture of aluminum oxide and sodium oxalate to 1000°C. It can also be obtained by heating a mixture of aluminum oxide and sodium oxide. It is an ionic crystalline mixed oxide, and the aluminate ion AlO ₂ ^- does not exist in the crystals. Therefore, it is more appropriately called aluminium sodium oxide. Its melting point is above 1700°C. It is easily soluble in water, but in aqueous solutions it hydrolyzes to precipitate the hydroxide.

化学式NaAlO₂。酸化アルミニウムとシュウ酸ナトリウムの混合物を1000℃に加熱して得られる。また酸化アルミニウムと酸化ナトリウムの混合物を加熱しても得られる。これはイオン結晶性の混合酸化物であって，アルミン酸イオンAlO₂^－が結晶中に存在するわけではない。したがって，酸化アルミニウムナトリウムaluminium sodium oxideと呼ぶほうが適切である。融点は1700℃以上。水に溶けやすいが，水溶液は加水分解して水酸化物を沈殿する。
