Thought - Shitaku

Japanese: 思託 - したく

Year of birth: Year of birth and death unknown. A monk of the Ritsu sect who came to Japan during the Nara period. Born in Yizhou, Tang, and with the secular surname Wang. He studied under Ganjin and received instruction in the Vinaya and Tendai schools, and after many hardships, he followed Ganjin and came to Japan in January of the 6th year of Tenpyo Shoho (754). He assisted his teacher in spreading the precepts and also worked hard to build Toshodaiji Temple. 生年：生没年不詳
奈良時代の律宗の渡来僧。唐の沂州の出身で俗姓王氏。鑑真に師事して律・天台を受学し,鑑真に従い苦難の末に天平勝宝6(754)年正月に来日。師を助けて戒律の弘宣に努め,唐招提寺の建立にも尽力した。師の功をのちに伝えるため鑑真の伝記を著し,また日本最初の僧伝である『延暦僧録』10巻を著したことで有名である。<著作>『大唐伝戒師僧名記大和上鑑真伝』3巻<参考文献>『日本高僧伝要文抄』3巻,義澄『招提千歳伝記』中,蔵中進「思託―渡来僧の生涯と文学―」(『唐大和上東征伝の研究』)
