…Anser anser is a domestic fowl belonging to the order Anatidae. There are two types: the European Anser anser and the Chinese Anser cygnoides . The former is a domesticated graylag goose from Egypt around 2800 BCE. The main varieties are the Embden (originally from Germany, white, weighing 8.0-9.0 kg) (illustration) and the Toulouse (originally from France, gray-brown, weighing 9.0-12.0 kg) (illustration).
