A state of mental and physical discomfort that occurs when traveling suddenly by airplane across a time zone with a time difference of several hours or more. It is caused by a discrepancy (asynchronization) between the daily life rhythm of the travel destination and the natural biological rhythm. It is also called jet lag syndrome or desynchronization syndrome. 数時間以上の時差がある地域を航空機で急激に移動するときに起こる心身の不調状態。時差のある旅行先の生活時間と本来の生体リズムとのあいだにずれ(非同期)が生ずることによる。時差症候群jet lag syndromeあるいは非同期症候群desynchronosis syndromeともいう。その症状のおもなものは,(1)疲労,集中力・判断力の低下,(2)睡眠障害,(3)胃腸障害,(4)頭痛,不安などである。
