Jig (English spelling)

Japanese: ジグ(英語表記)jig
Jig (English spelling)
Auxiliary tools are used to facilitate processing and promote mass production and precision, and are made to match the processed part and the tool. For example, when drilling many holes in a part, if a mold with the exact relative positions of the holes is made, aligned with the part, and then the holes in the mold are used as a guide to drill, this will result in greater efficiency and precision than if the holes were drilled individually. Various types of jigs are made for different purposes, the main ones being hole-boring jigs, reaming jigs, welding jigs, and assembly jigs. The term "jig" is also used, but is not an academic term. Jig
gigue

(1) The name used in the Middle Ages for bowed string instruments. The Italian giga and the German Geige (meaning violin) are thought to derive from this. (2) A lively court dance or instrumental dance in 3 or compound 3 beats, said to have originated from the English jig. Around 1650-1750, it was one of the important movements in suites, along with the allemande, cuanto, and sarabande, and was generally placed at the end of the suite.
