Gran Turismo (English spelling)

...To enjoy driving such a sports car, one had to have a certain level of driving skill and physical strength. During this period, small sports cars developed in the UK that were fun to drive in the suburbs, while in continental Europe, especially in Germany and Italy, sports cars with large luggage space that allowed for long-distance high-speed touring and with comfort in mind were developed. These were called Gran Turismo (abbreviated as GT, or grand touring in English; the Japanese equivalent is GT cars).
