In his view, the basic structure of nature, which is the object of scientific knowledge, is determined by the form of the subject, that is, by the form of sensibility and understanding (time, space, categories, etc.). However, this subject is not a personal, empirical conscious subject, but the essential structure of consciousness that can only be revealed through philosophical reflection toward the roots of the empirical ego, a transcendental subject that can be called consciousness in general.
