Chemicals used to produce light. There are flaming agents, spark agents, and spark powder agents. Flaming agents produce a spectrum of atoms and molecules due to high-temperature gas reactions, and there are low-temperature types with temperatures of 1700-2300°C and high-temperature types with temperatures of over 2700°C. Low-temperature types are used in traditional fireworks and produce a relatively weak light. Potassium chlorate, potassium perchlorate, ammonium perchlorate, etc. are used as oxidizers, and shellac, red gum, etc. are used as combustion improvers (oxidized agents).

光を出すのに用いられる薬剤。炎光剤と火花剤，火の粉剤がある。炎光剤の炎は高温の気体反応により原子や分子のスペクトルを出すもので，その温度が1700～2300℃の低温系のものと2700℃以上の高温系のものがある。低温系は従来の花火に使われていたもので，比較的光が弱い。酸化剤として塩素酸カリウム，過塩素酸カリウム，過塩素酸アンモニウムなどが用いられ，助燃剤(被酸化剤)にはシェラック，レッドガムなどが用いられる。
