[Ornamental varieties]
The improved Russell Lupinus was developed by the British George Russell in 1937. It is said to be a hybrid with one parent being the Lupinus moniliforme (also called Lupinus moniliforme), but it has long flower spikes and a wide variety of flower colors. The Minarette, improved in the Netherlands, has a wide variety of flower colors and is a dwarf variety that is 30 to 40 cm tall, suitable for potted plants and flower beds.
