Remotely piloted aircraft. Small radio-controlled aircraft used for reconnaissance, observation, and attack. As an unmanned aircraft, it is suitable for reconnaissance in high-risk areas. Large RPVs were used for reconnaissance flights during the Cold War and the Vietnam War. They were used to discover air defense positions during the Israeli invasion of Lebanon in 1982 and the Gulf War in 1991, and are also used as target aircraft.
