GOT - GOT

Abbreviation for glutamic-oxaloacetic transaminase. A type of aminotransferase that plays an important role in the energy metabolism system. In order to generate energy by oxidatively breaking down amino acids, it is first necessary to remove the amino group. In the first step, the amino group of the amino acid is transferred to the enzyme itself, and then this amino group is transferred to an amino group acceptor. The original amino acid is converted to a keto acid and is metabolized. Inflammation and cell necrosis cause intracellular GOT to leak out of the cell, increasing the blood concentration. Measuring the blood concentration can be used to diagnose hepatitis and myocardial infarction, so it is used in clinical tests. [CAS 9000-97-9]

glutamic-oxaloacetic transaminaseの略称．アミノ基転移酵素の一種で，エネルギー代謝系で重要なはたらきをしている．アミノ酸を酸化的に分解してエネルギーを生み出すためには，まず，アミノ基を除去する必要がある．第一段階では，アミノ酸のアミノ基が酵素自身に転位し，ついでこのアミノ基がアミノ基受容体に転移する．もとのアミノ酸はケト酸にかわり，代謝されていく．炎症や細胞壊死などにより細胞内GOTは細胞外にもれ，血中濃度が高まる．血中濃度を測定することにより，肝炎や心筋梗塞の診断ができるので，臨床検査に利用されている．[CAS 9000-97-9]
