Japanese: 椎田[町] - しいだ

An old town in Chikujo District, eastern Fukuoka Prefecture. The central settlement facing the Suo Nada Sea is an old port town that flourished as a post town on the Buzen Kaido road. It is now a small fishing port, and the Nippo Main Line and National Route 10 pass through it, and in recent years the number of people commuting to Kitakyushu City has increased. In January 2006, it merged with Chikujo Town, Chikujo District, to become a town, Chikujo Town, Chikujo District. 51.70 ^km2 . Population 12,297 (2003).

福岡県東部，築上郡の旧町。周防(すおう)灘に臨む中心集落は古い港町で，豊前(ぶぜん)街道の宿場町として栄えた。現在は小漁港で，日豊本線，国道10号が通じ，近年は北九州市への通勤者がふえている。2006年１月，築上郡築城町と合併し町制，築上郡築上町となる。51.70km²。１万2297人（2003）。
