An evergreen tree of the Rutaceae family. It belongs to the so-called miscellaneous citrus family and is thought to have originated from the bitter orange family. It is widely cultivated in Kaiso and Arida districts in Wakayama Prefecture. The fruit ripens in March and April and is elliptical with a swollen base at the base of the stalk, giving it a pot-shaped overall appearance. The skin is pale yellow and glossy. It has a strong sweetness and a unique flavor, but sometimes has the drawback of having little flesh and juice.
