Industrial unified struggle

Japanese: 産業別統一闘争 - さんぎょうべつとういつとうそう

A term used mainly for Japanese labor union movements, referring to a joint campaign by multiple labor unions in the same industry. Spring offensives are included in this category, and the method of struggle is also called the "spring offensive method." In Japan, labor unions are organized by company, so there are many unions in the same industry, and differences in activity are likely to occur depending on the size of the company and its management status. As a result, working conditions in companies with poor performance and other circumstances deteriorate, which is likely to lower the overall standard. To address this, unified industrial struggles are movements that aim to standardize working conditions and raise the overall standard by setting common goals among unions, adjusting the form and schedule of the campaign, and acting together.

同一産業内の複数の労働組合が共同して行う運動で，おもに日本の労働組合運動について使われる用語。〈春闘〉もこれに含まれ，その闘争方式は〈春闘方式〉とも呼ばれる。　日本では労働組合が企業別に組織されているため，同一産業内に多くの組合があり，企業規模や経営状態によって活動に差異が生じやすい。その結果，業績等事情の悪い企業での労働条件が低下し，それが全体の水準を低下させる可能性が大きい。これに対処するために，組合間で共通の目標を設定し，運動形態や日程を調整して一斉に行動することによって，労働条件の平準化をはかり，全体の水準を向上させようとする運動が産業別統一闘争である。
