Bingo - Bingo (English spelling)

This game evolved from a children's number matching game called Lotto. It is often played as a gambling game. There are 25 pieces, 5 pieces by 5 pieces, and 24 pieces, excluding the one in the middle, have numbers from 1 to 75 written on them in various arrangements. Each player is dealt a different card, and the host selects a number in turn with a ball or arrow. The player must erase the same number as the selected number from their own cards in a vertical, horizontal or diagonal line, and the first player to erase five numbers wins. In America, it is also called keno, which means five. Bingo is a corrupted word from beans, and it is said that the word originally came from the practice of placing beans on the numbers instead of erasing them. It was brought to Japan by the American military after World War II and was popular in entertainment districts for a time. It is still played and enjoyed at party venues such as year-end parties. In Europe and the United States, it is customary to hold it at expositions and donate the profits to charity.
