Za-yan (English spelling)

A form of classical Chinese poetry. A poem composed of lines of random length. The shortest line is one line, the longest can be more than ten lines, but generally there are lines of seven, five, or three lines. It is also called "long and short lines." There are no miscellaneous lines in the kotai style, and all of this form corresponds to the ancient style of poetry. 中国，古典詩の一形態。字数のふぞろいな句で構成される詩。最も短いものは1言，長いものは 10言以上に及ぶ句もあるが，一般には7言句，5言句，3言句を交えるものが多い。「長短句」とも呼ばれる。近体詩には雑言はなく，この形態はすべて詩体でいう古詩にあたる。
