A murder trial that lasted seven years from 1920 to 1927 in Massachusetts, USA. On April 15, 1920, Italian anarchist immigrants N. Sacco and B. Vanzetti were suspected of being the perpetrators of a murder that occurred in South Braintree, Massachusetts, and were arrested on May 5 of the same year without any clear evidence. Socialists and progressives claimed that they were falsely accused and harshly criticized them, and mass demonstrations for the two were held in the United States and Europe. However, the state supreme court did not allow a retrial, and they were sentenced to death in April 1927 and executed in August of the same year. It was pointed out that there was insufficient evidence that the two suspects committed the crime, and that their anarchist ideology was the true hidden reason for their guilty verdict, and public opinion also strongly criticized the political conspiracy. In April 1959, a Boston judicial committee took up the request for a retrial and proved them innocent.
