Japanese: 桜鍔恨鮫鞘 - さくらつばうらみのさめざや

Bunraku puppet theatre. Domestic drama. Also called "Tsumagasane Grudge Samesaya", commonly known as "Unagidani" or "Otsuma Hachirobei". The murder of Hachirobei's wife (the murder of the girl from Yotsubashi) took place in July 1702 (Genroku 15), and was immediately adapted into a kabuki play and performed in Osaka. Later, in August 1764 (Meiwa 1), the kabuki kyogen "Fuzuki Grudge Kiriko" was performed at the Osaka Mimasu Daigoroza (the middle play). This work is based on the murder of the prostitute Wakano from Sakamachi, Osaka, which took place in the same year, framed as the murder of the wife.

人形浄瑠璃。世話物。別題《裙重（つまがさね）恨鮫鞘》，通称《鰻谷（うなぎだに）》《お妻八郎兵衛》。古手屋(古物商)八郎兵衛のお妻殺し(四つ橋娘殺し)は，1702年(元禄15)7月に起こり，すぐさま歌舞伎に仕組まれて大坂で上演されている。その後，64年(明和1)8月大坂三枡大五郎座(中の芝居)で歌舞伎狂言《文月恨切子》が上演された。これは同年に起こった大坂坂町の遊女若野殺しをお妻殺しにはめた作である。
